This community is probably one of the most cancerous though not everyone is. If you knew what you were doing and was determined to develop an emu server, you wouldn't need me or extracrispy to help you.

To be honest, everybody wants a private server and I constantly get private messages asking for the code to decompress the game files so they can start work on an emu server. It doesn't matter what language it's written in, nor what libraries it depends on, the gamelogic is what determines the gameplay. What drives Darkfall and makes its gameplay unique is the GAMELOGIC. People on here constantly state that Unity and UE4 could never replicate Darkfall and that is where everybody is wrong. It draws polygons, textures, particles and pixels and deals with input devices. Like the entire subject about game engines. And then you have dickheads like ragnorok that have stated multiple times they have no idea what the fuck they are talking about, but then proceed to state their knowledge on certain subjects as if they are experts. I also got a job being a vulnerability researcher that came from my experience with reversing Darkfall so I didn't really want to work 40-60 hours doing that and then spending another 20-40 hours a week on the Darkfall emu project. The emulator project died because I eventually realized that this community, as well as most gaming communities, are dickheads so why would I spend my precious time and money developing and hosting an emulator. Game development is a business and not a charity, people gotta eat.
